The Homeowners Association was initially formed in 1990 as a means to oversee and manage the Carriage Hill Lakes neighborhood. A Board of Directors was elected from the association membership to oversee these responsibilities. Each property owner in the Carriage Hill Lakes and Carriage Hill Place community are members of the Carriage Hill Lakes Homeowners Association, Inc.
The operation of and responsibilities of the association are outlined in our Bylaws and the Maintenance Easement and Agreement to Convey. These two documents establish the structure, responsibilities and fundamental management of the Carriage Hill Lakes Homeowners Association. The association was incorporated in the State of South Carolina on September 23, 1988.
The Carriage Hill Lakes Homeowners Association is an organization created to provide consistency and oversight of the neighborhood for the benefit of each member of the organization. Its mission, activities and organizations is outlined in the most recent, approved bylaws of the organization.
Every owner of a lot in the Carriage Hill Lakes/ Carriage Hill Place development is a member of the Carriage Hill Lakes Homeowners Association. The Maintenance Easement and Agreement to Convey (MEATC) describes each property owner’s responsibility concerning membership in the Homeowners Association.
The Board of Directors is comprised of your neighbors. The Officers and At Large members are elected by the membership at the Annual meeting (February) of the membership. The Standing Committee Chairman (Activities, Development and Landscaping) are appointed by the Board of Directors. Rotation on and off the Board are coordinated on an even/ odd year basis to maintain Board continuity. Duration on the Board is currently limited to 4 continuous years in the same position and 8 continuous years on the Board.

The Board invites any association member with interest in serving in a leadership or supporting role in support of the Board of Directors (and the community). Feedback along these lines can be made to any current Board member.
